A lifelong Jackson resident with a keen interest in architecture and history, David Waldrip finds watercolor to be the perfect medium to reflect a sense of regional history and stir memories from where we have come. He graduated from Hinds Community College with an associate’s degree in art during the mid-70s, and since then has traveled countless miles on Mississippi’s back roads to gather photographic, reference material for his paintings. He is a member of the Gaddis Group in Fondren, an association of watercolor artists who meet weekly to offer each other critique and guidance.
