James Josey was born in Florida and raised in West Point, MS. After graduating from Mississippi State University with three degrees, Josey returned to Jackson and began perfecting his watercolors.
Josey paints a variety of subjects from florals to landscapes still lifes to birds. His most highly collected paintings are images of fish – painted in rich, glistening colors. He is one of the outstanding watercolorists in the South. His art is represented exclusively through Brown’s, where he has enjoyed several successful one man exhibitions.
