Jackie Meena finds expression in a variety of mediums and is especially drawn to experimenting and combining them in her art. Brilliant colors in combination with neutral shades result in work that is filled with energy and movement. Using drawing for the skeletal framework of her paintings, she adds extra touches with metallic and transparent acrylics, rice papers, inks, and watercolors.
The artist keeps up with current trends in mixed media by studying with well-known artists from all over the United States. She has also taught her own workshops on new and innovative methods in mixed media painting.
Meena’s art has been featured in numerous national competitions such as Watercolor USA and the Mississippi, Georgia, and Louisiana Watercolor shows. She has been a featured artist in the prestigious Candlelighters Calendar which benefits children with cancer. In 1994, she was the honored artist for the 1994 Art for Heart fund raiser. Her studio and paintings were featured in Mississippi Magazine’s Artist Tour.
