“Painting isn’t about arriving, but it’s about becoming”
Ann Barron
In 2002 – 2003, Ann Barron, had paintings accepted into both the American Watercolor Society Show in New York
and the National Watercolor Society Show in California, making her the first Mississippi artist to gain acceptance into the top two national juried shows in the same calendar year.
“I compare painting to one of those common dreams people have where they walk all night but never get any closer to the destination. I look behind me and see how far I’ve come but find myself no closer to “being there”. This tells me that painting isn’t about “arriving”; but it’s about “becoming” by undergoing change and developing higher and higher standards that remain always just beyond reach.” Ann Barron
A featured artist at Brown’s Fine Art for over twenty years, Ann Barron is a signature member of the Mississippi Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society and the American Watercolor Society. She was one of the founders of the Gaddis Group Studio, and she has been leader and coordinator of that organization for fifteen years.
